End Sewage Dumping in Wales
Raw sewage continues to be dumped into Welsh rivers, lakes and seas. This sewage is killing wildlife and poses a danger to public health. Beaches are closed to the public denying visitors the chance to swim safely and costing local businesses.
Yet the bosses of Welsh Water continue to receive bonuses despite Welsh Water being a ‘non-profit’.
Labour in Westminster have committed to kicking the problem down the road, waiting for 2030 on our calendars. In Cardiff the new Plaid government has no plan to stop this atrocious practice. Their inaction continues to let water companies get away with it.
The Welsh Liberal Democrats STILL want to:
- Ban bonuses for water company bosses and redirect funds into improving infrastructure.
- Demand the Welsh Government provides Natural Resources Wales with the funding and resources it needs to tackle & monitor pollution effectively.
- Install more phosphate removal facilities across our rivers.
- Introduce legislation to ban water companies from dumping raw sewage in our waterways.
Sign our petition below to demand Plaid in the Senedd and the Labour in Westminster take action now to save our Welsh Waters and introduce legislation to stop sewage being dumped into our rivers, lakes and seas!
